Adam Metz

Minister

Adam has been with the Alum Creek Church since August of 2003 when he came aboard as their youth minister. In 2008 he stepped into the expanded role as the family life minister - still devoting a great deal of time to the teens - his first love. He was born and raised in Defiance, OH. He graduated from David Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN in December 2000 with a B.A. in Bible and an emphasis in Youth Ministry. He continued on at Lipscomb for graduate work where he received his Masters of Arts in Religion in December 2002 and his Masters of Divinity in May 2003. He worked part-time for the West End Church of Christ in Nashville while in school as both a youth ministry intern and as the college minister (May 1999 - July 2003).Â He is married to Mary Beth, who is originally from Lewisburg, TN. She graduated in May 1999 from Lipscomb, where they met, with a B.A. in History Education. She started as the church secretary in March 2005, and was instrumental starting the Alum Creek Preschool which opened its doors in 2008. Both Adam and Mary Beth have many hobbies and other interests - they love their children, enjoy traveling together, and love their church family! They have been blessed with three incredible, independent souls to tend: their first child, Clark, was born on January 7, 2005, their second, Clementine, born May 1, 2007, and, Cecilia, their third on February 6, 2009. They illuminate the Metz family every day with laughter, joy, and . . . an ounce or two of stress - three kids is busy!
